IT'S YOUR BRAND...TAKE CONTROL OF IT!

What is Amazon Brand Registry?
The Amazon Brand Registry is a program designed for manufacturers and licensed resellers to control and manage how their branded products are displayed on Amazon. It is a critical component of being successful on Amazon to be in control of your brand and ensure the correct information is displayed for your products.
The Amazon marketplace is designed to take the most useful information from all the different sellers to compile the most complete and comprehensive product detail page. Because of this, incorrect product information can be displayed for your product. The Amazon Brand Registry gives manufacturers more control over the information that is being displayed. Nothing is more frustrating then having incorrect information displayed for your product and having unsatisfied customers giving negative reviews.
What does the Brand Registry enable you to do?
Once you have been approved and are the registered Brand owner, the product information that you submit will be displayed automatically. This information includes; titles, bullet points, product description, images, instructions and other attributes. The program also gives you the flexibility to list products without UPCs or EANs. This is very helpful when you are selling customized items or are in the beginning stages of production and have not establish UPCs for your items. Enrolling your brand in the Brand Registry can save you time and money.
Who can apply for the Amazon Brand Registry?
Not everyone can apply to list their brands in the Brand Registry. Only direct manufacturers and brand owners may enroll their products. If you are a distributor, reseller or other individual you will need to obtain written authorization from the manufacturer or brand owner to mange the brand on Amazon.com.
Are all products and categories eligible to be enrolled in the Amazon Brand Registry?
The following categories are currently ineligible to be listed in the Amazon Brand Registry; books, music, videos, DVDs and products in the entertainment collectibles and sports collectables categories.
Are there any negatives to the Amazon Brand Registry?
The Brand Registry is not perfect. It does provide manufacturers some extra control and safe guards when trying to manage their products on Amazon, but there are still some things to keep in mind. Enrolling your brand in the Amazon Brand Registry does NOT prevent other sellers from selling your branded products. Any reseller can still list your product on Amazon for any price they wish and undercut your MSRP. Other "approved" resellers can apply to the Amazon Brand Registry for the same brand. If they are approved and have a more extensive sales history, Amazon might display their information instead of yours.
