It’s no surprise that more and more advertisers are spending more time and more money on their Amazon business. In the past, the main two places that advertisers would spend their money on would be Google search and Facebook. As the customer shopping habits have changed so has the advertising landscape. Some advertisers are now moving more than half of their budget to Amazon which they would typically have spent on Google. According to Market research company eMarketer, they estimates Amazon will pull in $4.61 billion in U.S. digital ad revenue this year. At that amount it makes Amazon the third largest online ad platform behind Google and Facebook. Amazon continues to grow its market share and currently makes up 4.15 percent of total U.S. digital ad revenue, compared to Facebook and Google their percent has declined over the past year. Emarketer expects that Google and Facebook will make up 57.7 percent of U.S. digital ad revenue (37.1 percent and 20.6 percent, respectively), down from 59.1 percent in 2017.
