Amazon has decided to allow consumers to use HSAs (health savings accounts) and FSA (flexible savings accounts) allowing individuals to use their pre-tax income in order to cover their out-of-pocket medical expenses, such as medical supplies. Details on Amazon Payments:
In a statement to CNBC Amazon was excited to announce their new payment plan. Now, consumers can use their FSA or HSA debit cards when purchasing medical items from Amazon. Offering consumers the power to order from a wide range of over-the-counter product range using their FSA/HSA card. Eliminating the need to pay out of their own pockets, or even submitting a reimbursement. For instance, Amazon consumers can use their FSA/HSA cards to purchase:
Expanding Amazons reach into the health care sphere. As Amazon purchases the online pharmacy PillPack last year, they are now expanding its services from prescription delivery. In addition, last year Amazon joined hands with JPMorgan Chase, and Berkshire Hathway forming a health care venture called Haven. There are no announced plans for Haven yet, but from snippets of what we have heard the foundation will focus on redesigning health insurance. Offering a more focused doctor-patient care service, along with offering education and awareness on the matter. Haven’s Top Job: Former CEO of Aetna Mark Bertolini said Amazon’s approach to allowing the customer to pay via HSAs and FSAs cards is the biggest thing Haven has done. He added that this will help focus on offering an affordable health care cost in the USA. In addition, doctors will be able to offer more services. Taking care of their transportation, food, fuel, and socialization at home. Making it easier for seniors to see doctors, and cheaper in case of any crucial emergency. A great step towards the health care department that will have Amazon flourishing the department as well. A great venture that does not come with a great deal of information yet offers many unspoken promises for the people of America. Finally offering them a health care plan and service they deserve and won't shy away from. Comments are closed.
