Shopping channels and outlets are about to face some powerful competition as Amazon announces Amazon Live. This all-new service allows sellers to live stream their products, which is currently only being offered to Amazon Professional Sellers. While Amazon Professional Sellers will not be able to engage with customers in real time, they will still be able to advertise their products in style. During the live streaming, sellers will be allowed to demonstrate their products, and chat with the viewers. On the other hand, viewers will be able to comment during the live stream and purchase any item from the carousel display that will appear under the video.
This way sellers will be able to reach more shoppers who are surfing on Amazon.com and market their brand on a whole new level using an interactive live stream. To take advantage of this feature sellers will be required to download Amazon Live Creator on their Apple device. Unfortunately, the existing version is not available for Android users. Once you install the app on your Apple device, you will be required to log-in using your Amazon account. When you are ready to live stream, just click on the product you wish to feature and then you can instantly go live or schedule a live stream. They can use Amazon.com on any desktop, mobile, or use the Amazon mobile app to do so. This dedicated application helps sellers rehearse and test their live stream before they publish it. While offering viewer statistics and sale results of each live session. The live streaming will appear on the Amazon Live page, Amazon.com and Amazon mobile app on the product page, and on the seller’s store. In addition, sellers will get the opportunity to pay a little extra to expand their reach. As with any application, the Amazon Live feature has some limitations. Firstly, the application is only available on the Apple Store. Secondly, only professional sellers are able to use the feature. Lastly, the live streaming feature is not supported in Hong Kong or China. While this might not be the first time Amazon has offered live streaming services. As a few years ago, Amazon allowed viewers to tune into Style Code Live, and enjoy a show that focused entirely on beauty and fashion. Hosted by Lyndsey Rodrigues, Frankie Grande, and Rachel Smith, the show has some well-known guest appearances by Kourtney Kardashian, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kelly Osbourne. Sadly, the show was canceled in 2017 due to mediocre viewership. At another occasions, Amazon experimented with live streaming on Amazon Prime Day in 2017 and 2018. In the last few months alone they have allowed brands to try out their live streaming services. Which will not be extended to their Professional Sellers. Comments are closed.
